The other day I was on Instagram and saw that Jessica Biel could not live without her Bulletproof coffee. Later that same day I was reading in my Thrive magazine (yes, it was from the Holidays) about the amazing uses for coconut oil including, yes….Bulletproof coffee. Coincidence? I think not!
So, of course I had to find out what the big deal was. If this was a new craze, I had to try it. I have to be in the know at least.
So, I did some research about MCT, coconut oil, etc. I quickly came to the conclusion that:
A) I would use coconut oil since it is all natural (MCT is man-made)
B) Anything to give me more energy while using natural ingredients….sign me the heck up!
C) You can also lose weight. Bonus! Since moving to Chicago, I have eaten my way through half the damn restaurants in this town, so it would not hurt to lose a few lbs.
I then knew I was not going to buy the stuff, only because I am cheap and will find a way to make the crap on my own.
I also wanted to make sure that I tried this stuff out for a while before I told my audience to try this. I wanted to make sure it did not make one crazy, psycho, or want to hurt others.
So, here is what I have learned, determined, and my modified recipe is below.
