Welcome to my blog!
My name is Kathy – I am a wife, mother, Sagittarius, Type A, dog lover (on most days), yoga enthusiast, clean eater, too honest, a talker, wine addict, and a night owl. I have three wonderful little boys ages 6 1/2, 3 1/2 and 4 mos along with a fantastic husband who I have been with for 17 years. I work full-time and am currently in the process of redoing our amazing new (old) farmhouse. I also have two dogs, more wildlife in my backyard than I would like to admit, and obviously more than enough time on my hands since I have now started writing a blog!
I have been an athlete most of my life and was typically pretty conscious of how I took care of my body and what was going into it. Not until I had children did I really, truly care, as to exactly what I was eating, how I was working out, along with what these crazy chemicals were in my food and house.
In 2010 while I was pregnant with my first, I started to read books, blogs, talked to people, and spoke with farmers. I started to research the food I was buying, the baby products I was registering for, and the beauty products that I was using. I realized how bad a lot of the stuff we thought was “good” for us, really wasn’t. That “organic” also meant companies could use “organic pesticides”.
It was all so confusing and to top it off, the all natural/organic products were expensive. I started to change things little by little and figured out that I can save money by making it myself, cutting coupons, or just getting a good deal (what girl does not LOVE a good deal?).
I am very Type A, so this blog started out as a way for me to organize my thoughts and put down all the great ideas I saw each day. But, as my girlfriends wanted me to email them my ideas, recipes, and tips, I thought that maybe this whole blog thing might be a good idea. In 2014 I decided to really focus on my blog as I realized that people actually liked my ideas, money-saving tips, and DIY tricks.
I am looking forward to not only sharing them with my friends and family, but all of you. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that some of my tips & posts help in at least one small way.
